Hello, RIMS-UT Chapter Members, Affiliates, and Friends,
Our next virtual meeting will be two-fold:
1) The first part will be our annual business meeting for members in good standing to vote on the new slate of chapter Directors and Officers. Please see the email sent last week with the online voting ballot. Karen Griffin will lead the discussion.
2) Secondly, we have a great presenter lined up on a very timely subject! The hard insurance market is in full swing. Some of you may have never seen one of these before as it’s been a long time since insurance rates have generally increased so much so fast.
Our topic on March 25, 2021 at Noon MDT is: The Hard Market: Why It Exists and What To Do About It?
Our presenter will be from RIMS-National’s speaker’s bureau, Mike Meisten. Mike is a Senior Vice President and Chief Broking Officer at American Global, LLC (a privately held risk advisor and broker for the global construction industry), working with contractor clients and prospects on complex insurance matters throughout the U.S. Mike is also one of AG’s key insurer-relationship colleagues both nationally and internationally. Prior to joining AG, Mike experienced a near 20-year career with Marsh, serving last as the US Construction Casualty Placement Leader overseeing a team of 14 nationally distributed placement brokers responsible for marketing and negotiating highly complex primary and excess casualty insurance programs for construction clients. During his career at Marsh, Mike also served as a Placement Specialist in the Global Risk Management Excess Casualty Practice and as a primary liability broker in both Marsh's Risk Management and Marine & Energy Divisions.
Please login to the Zoom details below for an informative and needed session. Also see attached an article Mike penned last December for the construction industry's widest-read periodical, Engineering News Record.
